Jack/Hiccup Modern Day chapter 12.

“Dude, that was sick, Jack!”
“Why would you do that?”
“Where you trying to break him or something?”
“Did you-”
“Enough!”

Silence.

“Just like Ms. Smith said, you weren’t brave enough! So shut the hell up!”
“Bu-”
“Grow up you guys! She asked for volunteers, so I wanted to help her! I bet Hiccup thought the same thing.”

Mumbling.

Jack felt really angry, but he couldn’t really blame them. It was rather confusing: Doing an exercise like this with the outcast.

“I’ve had it with you people for today. I’m out.” said Jack, and started walking faster.

His eyes were searching for Hiccup, but he was afraid that said boy wouldn’t want to be seen with him now. That’s the way rumors are being born, after all. Yet, he found him and hurried his way.

“J-Jack, what are you doing? What will they thi-”
“I don’t care. They are all bitches and douchebags.” he growled.
“Whoa, whoa, Jack... Relax.”

Hiccup stood in front of Jack to let him stop walking. Jack’s hands were clenched into fists, eyes full of anger.

“Jack, look at me.”

He slowly met his boyfriend's eyes, still having a furious look on his face.

“They’re not worth it, Jack.”
“You’re right, I guess I let myself go a little. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be.” he smiled, and he put his hand on his shoulder.
“Thanks Hiccup.” he said softly, and hugged him.

Unfortunately enough right when the group from before walked by. They got a few weird stares but they were gone in a few seconds, having reached their classroom.

“I should get to geography, see you at lunch Hic!”
“Yeah, I should to go too. Economics, love it.” Hiccup said sarcastically and walked off in the opposite direction after he gave Jack a small wave.

He peeked back over his shoulder and saw Jack walking backwards, his face in Hiccup’s direction mouthing the three words:

“I love you.”
